Creating a filter or search for null or blank value

Hello,

What is the best way to find contacts that have been entered into SAP CRM 7.0 with no Main Communication Data Country ISO code? For example, could I create a target group of all contacts where Main Communication Data Country ISO code is blank? Is there another way to search for instances where this field is blank so we can clean it up?

The blank ISO country codes are causing problems for us when we want to export a list of names with email address for a campaign. We don't do all of our email blasts from within CRM. If ISO country code under Main Communication data is blank and there is no other physical/paper mail address data but we have an email address, we can not export that contact in order to pass along the email address to another tool to create the email blast.

Hi Rita,

You would need to use the "Remove" functionality inside Segment Builder.

I am assuming you are familiar with Segment Builder tool and how to create the attribute lists.

Creat an attribute list and do include the attribute "Main Communication Data Country ISO code" in this attribute list.

Then while creating a target group, you create a profile using some of the attributes.

Then create a filer "not eq to" Blank for this attribute "Main Communication Data Country ISO code".

Then drag and drop this filter on the above created profile and put on the Remove part of the existing profile.

This step will basically remove those customers for which the Main Communication Data Country ISO code is blank.

Hope u can achieve the desired result with these steps.

In case u need basic information on how to create Data sources, Infosets, Attribute lists, then you can get lot of stuff on the net.

Hi,

Thanks for your email. Unfortunately, I have only used graphical modler. I have tried creating a filter for contacts with ISO Code = blank but have had no luck. There is no option to create a filter for 'not equal to' US. Are you using graphical modler or SAP GUI?

Hi,

I am using the Graphical Segment builder modeller in the Web UI. Same thing will work in GUI as well.

Did you try to create a filter as "eq" to Blank ( Here you need to enter space as the value for Blank ) and then drag and drop this filter to the existing profile in the segment modeller and this should remove the Business Partners, where the ISO Code = blank
