Material determination

Hi Team,

My client using material determination for this, we are using substitute reason Z006 , for this we put outcome B.here it displayed automatically as a sub item, but client requirement was if the Substitution material out of stock ,they need to book under original material , but here they are not able to change substitution material quantity. please guide me on this.

HI,

go to VB12 select line item click on alternative material(F2) icon

and list out alternative material with unit of measure as well as MRP indicator

here The MRP indicator displays the alternative material for which a sub item can be

created in case a requirement can't be met. Material requirements planning uses

the sub item to determine the requirement shortage.

save it and raise sales order.

Hi Krishna,

In My case if the alternative material is out of stock then they need to book order with original material , all the orders created through EDI so if the alternative material is out stock then user confirm with the customer and book the order under original material, but while in Changing the material in VA02 Alternative material is in display , so they are not able to change the quantity. please guide me on this.

Hi

Assuming that availability check is active in your system,

do the following:

In VB11 create a condition record for material determination and in teh alternative materials, first enter the alternative material and enter the original material as the second alternative material.

Leave the MRP indicator blank.

What this does is when the order is created, it checks stock availability for alternative material and if no stock, then checks stock of original material, which is maintained as the second alternative material.

This will solve your issue.

Where i can find MRP control is it in Material master Or in Material Determination Condition Record.is there any chance to change the alternative material quantity manually.

check in mm02, MRP view screen, leave mrp indicator screen blank.

But my client requirement is for ex customer raise an order for 1000 Quantity for normal pack and due to material determination/ Substitution system automatically picks the pramotional material . but now use want to change the quantity like normal pack 500 and pramotional pack 500. but when we go to VA02 and to change the quantity the alternative material in dispaly mode .
