How do I restrict a characteristic on the variable screen, eg. I have a "Target Currency (Default USD), Company Code and do not either want to display it to the user but fully functional or make it not acesssible to the user.
Simply create customer exit variables, and assign default values to them, so that they will not be displayed to user on selection screen but actual restriction will be applicable to report.
We already have the variable in user exist with a default display of USD which was the goal, but they are still able to make a selection by going to the single value which is what we are trying to take away from them. Just to be able to use USD which is the currency conversion type needed. Also, the company code needed for the report but we do not want users to be able to have any control at the variable selection screen.
Go to the variable in change mode and in the properties unmark the checkbox "Ready for Input" once you do that variable will not be displayed on selection screen for change.
Thanks for your reply but it has already been filtered to Company Code Currency, still, the user can drill down and make another selection from the single value if they want at the variable selection screen.
