Object Link and Installed Base

Can anyone please tell me the use of Object Link and Installed Base in PM....

Object Link:

While analysing the breakdown or doing analysis on maintenance activity, object link will have effect.

For example, there are 3 equipments which are connected sequentially. If one equipment gets breakdown, other equipment will also get affected.

In that case, to analyse the equipment utilization, other equipments also have idle time because of this equipment breakdown.

So by using action items or some user exits, you can create notification for these equipments.

By using technical object hierarchy, equipments will be assigned to superior equipments. In case of same level equipments which are having link will be connected using this Object Link Functionality.

Installed base will used instead of Maintenance Bill of Material.

There sub equipments, sub components & documents will be attached. It cant be used in Maintenance Order.

Its like using Maintenance bill of material as well as technical object hierarchy.

This will be used in Customer Service mainly it is based on industry type.
