BSP via WebDAV -> why MIMEs?

Hi,

It's maybe a stupid question but why are files put via Web

always considered as MIMEs and has capitals? One needs then to convert it to BSP which becomes then a View and then rename it to the desired capitals. This is rather tedious if one has to upload multiple files.

Is there an easier way to do this?

Eddy

Hallo Eddy,

It all has to do with transport objects, somebody else wrote the code, and 20 other reasons. We have a report that can just upload all the files. See nice weblog of Max on this topic.

Thanks Brian for the info. I've must have missed that one when I was doing a search. Anyway, I'll have a look at BSP_UPDATE_MIMEREPOS later today, but at first sight it concerns only MIMEs.

Don't ask me why but we need to upload non MIMEs in bulk, which become editable in se80.

If you need something like creating many BSP pages en-bulk (where one has to wonder if there are not better ideas!), then I would recommend writing a report in SE38. It uploads the files, then you use API to generate BSP apps/pages. See weblog of Thomas on useful classes.
