Muliple users of SDM

Is it possible to have many users connecting to the sdm with different passwords from Webdynpro without configuring DTR?

In a team environment with many developers working on different apps how do get each developer to deploy without waiting for the other to release the lock in the sdm?

Is this supported, or is there another method of deploying?

AFAIK SDM deployment prosess is exclusie which means that only one user at time can deploy application.

You are not required to configure DTR in order to deploy apps with SDM.

Regarding the team work it should be done in the following way:

Each developer has it's own local WAS server for development, debuging and testing (it can also be server per app). In addition there is a central WAS server with JDI installed, JDI consist of CMS,CBS and DTR.

When developers develop it's application he deploy and test it on his local WAS, but whenever he want to make his app state visible to others he "activate" his local changes and it is automatically propogated by CMS from DTR to CBS. CBS which is central build server build the application on the main server and then trigger deployment there (on the JDI server).

Using this scenario you don't have any conflicts among different developers who wants to deploy their apps beacuse it is depolyed automatically by central system.

    Hope it helps.
