How to determine item usage for a product?

Hi,

I know that the item category is determined based on the following parameters - transaction type, item usage, item category group and the main item category. My question is how can I determine the item usage for a given product? Can you name some function modules/methods or tables.

These are FMs resposible for determining Item category, item usage.

Hi Satish,

Thanks for providing the information. I had already had a look at the MERGE function module and what I understand from that is that the system tries to look for an item type usage only in case of "opportunities". And even in that case, only if the product is defined as a competitor product.

Hi Shanto,

Thanks for replying. The table you have pointed out is the master table for item type usage. It contains all the item type usages available in the system. It does not show any linkage with products.
