Dear,

Firming indicator can be also due to partially converting planned order into either production order or purchase requisition.

Thanks

Hi,

I think the user might have converted the planned order partially based on his own decision. May be the raw materials and capacity are available only for the partial qty so he might have converted partially.

There is no change document in the system to indicate the partial conversion and for the firming of the planned orders.

Thanks,

Go to production order second tab assignment tab, check in field planned order

You will get plan order number, Now compare that plan order number with MD04 plan order number

If both numbers are same then that plan order is partially converted into production order

Hi,

1.Just check when the planned order is getting firmed (). If you use mrp type as M0,M1,M2,M3M4 OR P1,P2,P3,P4 and planning time fence then after mrp run the planned orders are get automatically firmed ().

2. Once the order is firmed it will not affect during mrp run

3. Also firming came be done by setting date. In md04 go to edit and select the manual firming date.

So, coming to your question

If there is no fixing type in the material master, and there is no manual firming date in the md04, then it is most likely the planner has made the changes to the req. (quantity, date, source selection, )

You can clear the flag within the req from the change mode so mrp will replan. The req item details contact person tab will give you some limited info on creation and changes.

Dear,

No manually change is not the only reason. if you convert your your planned order partially then it will be firmed also you can go to edit planned order and can set the firming indicator.

Revert back for more information.

Hi Lauliu,

Manual is not the only reason to make the planned order firm.

Of course it is one of the reason.

Other reasons are the time fencing.

If the planned order is within the time fence then it will be automatically firmed during planning run.

For the planning time fence to work, you must enter an MRP type with a firming type in the material master record.

Hi,

The * in the planned order normally indicates it is firmed in MD04.

The cause / reasons are

1. In the MRP type, you may have the firming type like M1, M2, M3or P1, P2, P3

2. You may have changed it manually

3. In MDVP you may have done the availability check for planned order components and you have activated the indicator, once all components are available firm the order.

4. If your are using LTP, then you mya have copiedthe planned order from MD43 (LTP run to MRP run)

5. If you have partially converted the planned order, the remaining qty will be firmed

Thanks,

JK
