Thank you for responding Ian.

I am confused now, how will I get the Call types across the top if i don't use a cross tab?

Hardware Software Merchandise HR

1 MTD MTD MTD MTD

YTD YTD YTD YTD

2 MTD MTD MTD MTD

YTD YTD YTD YTD

3 MTD MTD MTD MTD

YTD YTD YTD YTD

4 MTD MTD MTD MTD

YTD YTD YTD YTD

This is what i have, but the MTD total is the same as the YTD total.

Or am i way off base?

Using my suggested MthToDate formula.

Just add that to the summarized fields box on the Cross Tab expert

Thank you for responding Don.

I have to use a Cross tab because I am listing the store numbers going down and the call types across the top.

As Don said you are better off not using a CrossTab

Group report by Store Number add a sum of value field to Group header. - That will be your year todate.

Create a formula

@MthToDate

If month(yourdatefield) = month(currentdate) then valuefield else 0

Add this to details and create a sum of this in Group header.

Suppress details and group footer.

Hello,

If all you are showing are totals then don't use a Crosstab report and simply use a formula to total the month and year.

Couple of ways is to manually total/count the field using SUM or COUNT.

Create a Group for the year and then subgroup for the month.

Use a SQLExpress and use the COUNT( field ) if that's possible also.

No details on the field type or values so can't give you details.

On the Start Page of the designer also there should be a link to download sample reports, have a look at those, there are some great samples to show you how to most of the basics.
