difference between CR 11.5 and CR 2008 suppress formula

Hi, I have a question,

When I open the section expert and set a formula for a section next to the "Suppress" check but no selecting the check, the report is using this formula to decide if suppress the section or not. This is Crystal Reports 2008.

In the past (11.5) if the "Suppress" check was not marked the section were not suppressed even having some formula.

I hope I made myself clear enough.
