Formatting column headers of a SEM-BPS layout

Hi,

I'm trying to format header column width (both characteristics & key figures) in the manual planning layout, but whenever I click on save, they are being reset to normal positions.

this is what I've done.

--> went to manual planning layout change mode

--> unchecked the default flag for "Always fit column width" ['Fit Column width Automatically' button]

--> highlighted header row

--> went to 'Format Cells' [right click]

--> checked the flag "Wrap Text" in Alignment tab

Now, the layout looks the way I want.

when I click on save, all the headers are being reset to earlier positions.

Let's say One of column header is in the following format.

Cost in US Dollars

I'm trying to get the column heading as follows.

Cost in

US Dollars

But, after necessary modifications to layout and when i click on save, format is being lost and column header is as follows.

Cost in US Dollars

Even am trying to change the header text font style to "BOLD". This is also not working.

Am i missing something?

Appreciate any help.

I solved it.

For formatting a cell, rather than right clicking, I chose EXCEL MENU FORMAT -> STYLE --> MODIFY and it works as expected but I wonder why it doesn't work if i do the same by right click menu.

anyhow, hope it will be helpful for few others.

Hi,

If you do it by right clicking you only change the settings of a single cell but not the style the cell is formatted with (Excel assumes that more than one cell can be formatted with that style and does not change the style). It was decided in BPS that only changes in the styles will be used but not changes in the formatting of single cells.
