How to access Web Dynpro ABAP application without any user id exist?

All,

I have a user id in Portal (UME Database).

Once I logged into Portal, I want to run WDA application from Portal.

But I'm getting an logon page to enter my user id and password.

I don't have any user id and password in ECC system.

How do I access the WDA application from Portal without entering user id / password?

Thanks

Thruna

    Hi,

To run a WDA application from portal you should have a User ID in backend ECC System.

Usermapping is preferred to be unique and it should belong to the portal user.Generally user mapping is done when the user name differs in portal and in backend system.

For accessing Backend applications without prompting for any authendication can be achieved through single sign on.

If UME is configured to point ABAP System , then SSO by Logon certificates is preferred as it is easy to maintain.

Finally a user should have a Username in ECC to access WDA application without geeting logon page in portal.

    Hello ,

It is asking for SAP system user id and password becasue there is no SSO established between portal and the web dynpro system.

Now, either you can establish SSO between portal and the backend system by SAP Logon TIcket or user mapping.

SSO stands for single sign on.

SSO using SAP Logon Tickets :-

by using this technique you will be able to login into the backend by using SAP logon ticket

issued by the portal system. For this you need to import the .der certificate form the system administration ->system config -->

key ticket store. there download verify.der and upload it in the trusted system list in the backend in the trasaction strust_import.

here is link for this method.

    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/EP/LogonTickets,CertificatesandBackend+Certificates.

    SSO using user mapping. :-

For this method you need to map the user in the portal to one user in the backend system.

You can do so by going to user administration in the portal there find the user id with which the user will login.

then go to the user mapping for system access tab there select the system from the dropdown and give user id and password

for the same system save it.

Now when you will login it wont ask for the user id and password.

And after this you can get the portal user id also in your web dynpro application.

I hope this is help full for you,

    Regards

    Vijay

You may choose to use user mapping to access the WD4A application without using your user id.

For this method you need to map the user in the portal to a user that exists in the backend system.

You can do so by going to user administration in the portal there find the user id with which you will login.

Then go to the user mapping for system access tab there select the system from the dropdown and give user id and password

(for backend) for the system you use to connect to backend and save it.

Now when you will login it wont ask for the user id and password.

For this, the system you create under system administration should use User Mapping.

    Thanks Vijay for your response,

I have a similar requirement like that o Thruna. We have to develop some Adobe Interactive forms for some HR porocess for employees of an organisation. We are planning to develop the adobe forms on NW7.0 and embed them into WebDynpro application so that they are available to the employees over the web browser. Since all employees of the org dont have user id/pswd, do we need to create user ids to each of the employees? If there is an alternate way then pls. let me know.

If we use a common id to loginto the webdynpro application then how will the SAP system identify the user .Given that Employee's data should be confidential only an employee should be able to view/edit his data in SAP(exculding the administrators).
