Hi Experts
We have a specific requirement that goes beyond the Catch up method of Depreciation.
Here are the Details
Asset has Dep start Date from 01/11/2009 and has life for about 10 years.
We have 13 periods for each Fiscal year. Current period is 3rd period.
We have 13 periods for each Fiscal year. Current period is 4th period.
Asset has been changed its useful life from 10 years to 8 yrs in the Current period 04.
Client wants to see the Life to date adjustment of the Depreciation from the beginning of Depreciation Start Date (01/11/2009) to till now in the next accounting period Dep run itself instead of adjustment in the current fiscal year and changing the Net depreciation in future fiscal years.
We are already using the Catch up Method in the production.
Please advise whether the solution is available in Standard SAP or not?
If available please provide the procedure to answer this requirement.
Thanks

Hi Meenakshi,
I', sorry this is not possible. In the asset explorer you can see
Useful life
Exp. usefl life
Remaining life
The "expired useful life" is up to the beginning of the displayed fiscal year.
to display the "expired useful life" up to the period of the next depreciation run is not possible.

Does that mean whenever i change the Use ful life, the automatic Dep run adjustment or Next periodic Dep run will look at the Expired Useful life and calculate the remaining period of the life and then adjusts the values ?
What makes it to look at the expired useful life only?
Please explain in detail if possible
Thanks

After further research and following the reply from Bernhard, i have concluded that this is not possible in SAP and it's not a proper requirement in respective to the legality of the business. Same message conveyed to the business.
Thanks for the reply Bernhard.
