"Lock NOT set for: Loading master data attributes" msg. in master Data Load

Hello All,

I am facing a problem while loading master Data for one of the Info-objects. On the Monitor screen I see the message "Attributes for characteristic ZENDCUS are locked. Further, selecting 'Display Message' on context menu, message

(1). "Attributes for characteristic ZENDCUS are locked by a terminated change run" &

(2). "Lock NOT set for: Loading master data attributes" comes

If I try to activate the already present data I get the same message, "Lock NOT set for: Loading master data attributes".

Earlier I had tried to activate the master data for Infoobject ZENDCUS, thru Change Run as it is used in aggregates. It seems it had terminated. How do I rectify this problem as I am blocked as of now.

    May be a rocess has locked your InfoObject and other processes can't work on at the same time: to see (and remove) locks on Master Data you can use the Monitor or TCode RS12

      Hi GFV,

      I again executed the Change Run for the InfoObject (program RSDDS_AGGREGATES_MAINTAIN) but it failed and has message "Hierarchy/Attribute change canceled (protocol/short dump)" in Change Status column. There are no interrupted jobs as seen in sm12 (Is there any other method of finding so??).

      I have also deleted this locked message corresonding to above failure.

    This means some aggregates were being modified during the changerun. The error message should give the aggregate number. Go to SE16 give /BIC/EXXXXXX (aggregate Number)this will show which cube the aggregate belongs to. Inactivate the aggregate and run the change run again. you could always come back and reactivate and fill the aggregate once the change run is over.

    Hi,

    I had once faced the simmilar kind a problem and ultimately I had to run the same attribute change run 4-5 times. Most of the time its got cancelled but finally it got completed and the problem with the lock automatically got resolved.

    We have also tried out so many things like checking the SM12 as well as killing active BW jobs but nohting resulted anything as it created a DB lock in the underlying database table.

      Thank you all! While trying different alternatives I have deleted the aggregate also, should I still retry the change run process in order to solve the problem.
