Hi All ....
We are using SAP XI 3.0 - SP9. When we click the "Test SLD Connection" option in the SAP GUI, we get the following log displayed .....
-
Test LCR Connection
Calling function LCR_LIST_BUSINESS_SYSTEMS
Retrieving Data From SLD Server ....
Function Call Returned an Exception Code : 4
Check Whether SLD is Running
Summary : Connection To SLD Does Not Work
Check SLD Function And Configurations
-
Though we are getting this error, we are able to seperately log on to SLD through the web browser. But!, when we try to run a scenario which needs SLD to be connected to the Integration Server ..... We are not able to get any results due to the inability to of the Integration server to get connected to SLD. Please Advise asap as we 're stuck at this juncture in a real time scenario implementation with a fast nearing deadline.
Thanks,
Anil.
Hi!
Have you configured connnection to the SLD in SLDAPICUST using the XIAPPLUSER?
Have you configured the RFC connection SAPSLDAPI in SM59 and in the Admin Tool on the J2EE side?

Hi Again,
Well!, to put it up more clearly, we have done all the below procedures to chack and make the SLD connection with the Integration server work :
1. configured connnection to the SLD in SLDAPICUST using the XIAPPLUSER
2. configured the RFC connection SAPSLDAPI in SM59 and in the Admin Tool on the J2EE side
3. Restarted the J2EE from the transaction SMICM in XI and also went to Visual Admin tool and check the connections where in we agin get the error saying "Error Connecting Integration Server to SLD"
4. when we try to log on tthrough the URL
http://<Server Name>:50000/sld/admin/index.jsp it asks for the username and password and further upon authentication allows the access of SLD without any problem.
We feel that the problem lies in the connection between SLD and the Integration Server and are having a tough time resolving it. Please let us know If there's any procedure of reviving the "SLD connection to the Integration Server " that's apart from the ones mentioned above.
Thanks & Regards
Hi,
It seems to be a stupid solution, but it helped here.
Just re-enter the username and password again in sldapicust, and save again.
In our case, with the same error, problem was solved.
This happened in at least two installations in a row, so i don't think it were typing errors.
Sometimes i get the feeling that the data entered are not 'remembered' correctly, or used somehow...

Anil,
I am glad it helped. You might run into the same sort of error while entering your RFC destinations. The system then decides to authenticate through certificates rather then basis authentication, though the radio buttons checked say something else...
Same solution here. Just uncheck, save, and check radio button again, save, until it works...
SAP has some work to do there
Björn

Hi,
you may in addition check transaction LCRSERVADDR to be sure that there are no entries.

Hi,
Check the connections from XI to the SLD.
A quick-&-dirty way to try and fix is to restart the J2EE from the transaction SMICM in XI.
The better way is to go into the Visual Admin tool and check the connections.
Hope this helps
Regards
Manish
