Positions appear vacant in the Position reporting structure display

Hello experts,

We're running STVN 2.0 (build v 5.1.11.1). We've encountered the following issue: when selecting the Position hierarchy structure under My Work Area, the holder's name is displayed only for the main position which manages (A-012) the org unit which we are responsible for (A-741).

For all reporting positions (B-002), they appear vacant since the holder names are not displayed.

I've been looking at the AppResources.XML file but could not identify the line which may be causing this problem. Have any of you encountered this issue?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Hi George,

This sounds like a problem with the backend that can be corrected via an SAP note. Take a look at these:

1462423 - No Manager retrieved for vacant lead position

1492420 - TMS@Nakisa: Performance of the organizational structure

1528502 - STVN 2.0 SuccessionPlanning HR-OCI hotfix

1564254 - TMS@Nakisa / Org. hierarchy: "Manager" icon is missing

I'm pretty sure the first one will fix it, but the others are worth importing also. It's worth looking through the XX-PART-NKS SAP notes for those that are also in component PA-TM.

Best regards,

Luke

Hi Luke,

Thank you for your reply. We checked the OSS note but it did not seem to resolve the issue.

I was running tests in our sandbox, and I tracked the field with the employee name, fieldset name="IncumbentSingle".

Since this is only being added to fieldset name="Position Info" only for the root position and not for the subordinate positions, I started adding a section with the Incumbent fieldset everywhere I found a section for Position Info. However, that did not solve the problem. Is there another file that might require updating?

When we right-click on any position and select the 'View in Position Hierachy", the employee names are all displayed.

Thank you

Hi George,

Have you imported all the notes or applied all of the fixes in the notes? If not I would recommend it - even if they don't seem like they solve the problem they generally do. Did you apply the hotfix in note 1528502?

By the way, in this thread did any of my suggestions help?
