Delta Load to ODS and Cube

Hi BW Experts,

Can any one explain why we load data first to ODS and then to Cube (in Delta Load-if the extractor supports delta).

The scenario when we load the data(delta) to ODS is through 0RECORDMODE. What's the scenario when we load to Cube.

And what are the setting that we have to take care in the above two options.

Thanks a million in advance

Xys redd.

    Hi Redd,

there is no fixed rules when you build your own data modeling...you don't need to use an ODS if your data comes with no document granularity (but this is not always true!)...however, in order to have a better view on this topic please refer to http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bw33/helpdata/en/bd/c627c88f9e11d4b2c90050da4c74dc/content.htm and http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bw33/helpdata/en/f9/45503c242b4a67e10000000a114084/content.htm

...about RECORDMODE, if you use a cube you don't need this object, but, however, refer to OSS Note 399739 'Questions and answers on InfoObject 0RECORDMODE' for more info...

    Hope it helps !

    Bye,

    Roberto
