CRM PC-UI Elements and changability

Former Member

Hi, I am currently looking into the PC-IU delivered components that are delivered in CRM, e.g. CRMD_BUS2000126. Regarding these elements I would like to know whether it is possible to change these enabling me to show for instance less tabs. If I cannot change these is it possible to copy these elements? These elements contain pretty much all the functions in CRM and I am looking for a way to simplify these. This since I do not require all information to be filled out in the standard element, just a subset. Thanks in advance for all responses, Tiest.

Tiest,

Yes these can be changed but using CRM tools (tool is called Blueprint Application Builder). There is actually a book about the complete CRM development. I am not sure if it is available in English, I know it was published in German. Unfortunately, the complete CRM PCUI topic is relatively complex, and I have not enough background information on this. Maybe someone can still help you. Unfortunately there is no dedicated CRM/PCUI forum in SDN.

Thanks for these insights Brian, very helpfull, I going to see whether I can figure out what the title of this book actually is. In the mean time I keep this thread open to see whether some more replies will be added. If you remember the book title please let me know as well. Thanks, Tiest

Not needed to setup a discussion area for CRM PCUI. The forum has already been requested and approved. It will be created next Tuesday in the backup system, and will be available here one week later. So let us wait a few more days.

And of course, expertise are needed in the new forum. The top3 list is still open for you show you thing! I know about nothing about CRM at the technical level

HI

You will need to download the CRM Designer. With this you can change the layout graphically.

Tiest,

You can reduce the number of tabs by creating a Custom View using transaction CRMC_BLUEPRINT_C.

Identify the tabgroup to be reduced.

Import the standard entries in the tab group (to be reduced). Assign this custom view to all the entries imported from the standard table in this tab group. Now select the tabs in the tab group which you want to hide and set the flag in column 'Inact.' as 'Flag Set. Event has occured'. Save the entries.

Now call your transaction (CRMD_BUS2000126) using the newly created custom view, by appending the URL with paparemeter BLVIEW.

Which means - add -- &BLVIEW=ZVIEW -- to the exisitig URL. With this you have filtered your standard SAP view with the custom View.

Now this custom view can also be assigned to a portal role in order to provide role based content to different user groups.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

Hi you guys, just wanted to let you know that we are about to start our build phase and will use that to create the PC-UI WebLog. Again thanks all for your replies. Tiest.

Murthy, I have plenty of documentation found on PC-UI and the usage of the CRM Designer. If you want me to sent you some info, leave your email here and I will sent it out.
