BI_CONT 706 SP1 in a SM71 SPS02 upgrade (RAMP-UP)

Dear SAP'pies.

I'm currently running a RAMP-UP upgrade to Solution Manager 7.1 SPS02.

Creating the stack of files for the upgrade, MOPZ includes BI_CONT 7.06 SP01 and nothing else for BI_CONT. This makes the upgrade stop in the phase PREP_EXTENSION/SUBMOD_EXTENSION_NEW/EHP_INCLUSION because it is missing a SAINT package for BI_CONT.

As far as I see in SAP Note 1558363 the requirements for the upgrade to BI_CONT 7.06 hasen't been fullfilled by the collection done in MOPZ, as well as nothing has been included in the stack besides SP01. Now I want to find the DVD with material number: 51040456 as mentioned in the SAP Note and provide it to the list of installation medias.

Does anyone know where to find this media(51040456), as I cannot find it on SMP or SDN as well as GOOGLE.

Our source level of BI_CONT is 704 SP6

I don't want to install the BI_CONT 7.06 upgrade manually, unles this is a requirement from SAP, eventhough this could be the workarround.

Hi Ian.

As it was a RAMP-UP we where running, we where advised to use the XML included in the RAMP-UP media rather than collecting through MOPZ.

In you case I would collect a stack excluding BI_CONT which might causing the issue, thereby you might be able to implement the stack. Afterwards you can update BI_CONT.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I will give it a go without the BI_CONT and update that after as per your suggestion. In the mean time I've raised an OSS message as there is clearly a problem somewhere, maybe in our SMSY detailsthough I have checked them and they look to be correct.

We are having same issue with BI_CONT, we are doing upgrade from SOLMAN 7.0 EHP1 to 7.1SR1.

Is this problem solved? SAP release recently note 1705923 to fix the problem but it didn't fix the probelm in my case. Let me know if have any soltuon to the BI_CONT problem?

I am upgrading SAP Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 to 7.1 SR1. I am using very latest SOLMANUP tool. I am facing same issue in IS_SELECT phase for BI_CONT.

I am getting error "No matching SAINT pacakge for 'BI_CONT' found. I have extracted all required BI_CONT files. As part of solution manager upgrade, BI_CONT will upgrade from 704 to 706. I have extracted following BI_CONT archive in EPS/in directory.

Hello,

The upgrade you mention is not a Ramp Up upgrade.

BI_CONT 706 EHP2 does not exist. What do you mean?

Manual modification of the XML is not advised.

Please check the XML, there is a section called 'initial-state'. If you did a 'search and replace' manually and modified the Support Package level of BI cont in the 'initial-state' section, that might be the reason why the installer says that the destination level is already at 2.

Thanks for getting back to me,

I know this isn't a ramp up issue but the error appeared to be the same and I was wondering if there was a solution that I might be able to use. Also I did mean BI_CONT 706 SP2 not EHP2, I have a bad cold so I'm not thinking as clearly as I might.

I have not amended the stack XML file, I just used the option in SLM MOPZ to include support packs from the download basket and manually added the BI_CONT SP's 1 and 2 to the basket before using SLM to generate the stack XML file and download the SP's, yet I still get the error above when I run the SOLMANUP program.

But ideally this should have been placed by the MOPZ itself.

Hi Srikishan.

I already triet to include the file in my EPS/in without sucess.

I can install BI_CONT in the system and afterwards continue with the upgrade, but this should be approved by the RAMP-UP team, I think.

Hi Teddy,

Did you make any progress with this problem? I'm having the same issues upgrading from 7.0 EHP2 to 7.1 using solmanup. I've manually included BI_CONT 706 EHP2 in the stack XML but am still getting the error:

Severe error(s) occured in phase PREP_EXTENSION/SUBMOD_EXTENSION_NEW/EHP_INCLUSION!

Last error code set: Stack inclusion failed: patch level 1 for component BI_CONT is too low, destination level is already at 2

It is a bit strange as the SP level for BI_CONT is currently at 1 not 2 as the errormessage suggests.
