DI API: Licenses

Former Member

Hi All,

I am wondering what license to buy for integration project. I have been unable to get a clear answer from anywhere. I am integrating between a third party system and SAP Business One. If I post invoices to SBO using the DI API, do I need to buy a Professional license for every connection made to the sbo server?

Thank you very much,

Adele

Hello Adele, i will try to clarify your question with the following paragraphs:

-SDK License-

The new SDK license employs a concurrent model (first-come, first-served). Under this model, there are two licensing options for the SAP Business One SDK:

-Development License-

This license is required for partners developing add-ons and the only license allowing distribution. In Development license, the license key is shared by all developers connected to the same License Service. The License Service allocates licenses on the basis of first-come, first-served.

The Development license includes both the UI API and the DI API.

-Implementation License-

This license is required for customers intending to develop small modifications or add-ons for their own use using only the UI API.

Add-ons developed under the Implementation license cannot run with a different License Service other than the one that was used for their development. The Implementation license does not allow distribution to third-parties.

In the Implementation license, the license key is shared by all developers connected to the same License Service. The License Service allocates licenses on the basis of first-come, first-served

As far as i understand your question, you need a Development Version and do not have to worry about the connections made to the B1 server unless you are going to use the DI Server (in this case, each license depends in the number of CPU that the server contains).

Now, you will need a Professional User when you access B1 from the Customer side, if not no transactional data (or just a few) can be used.

Please refer to the document "Licensing.pdf" in the "documentation" folder of your Installation CD. There you will find a comparison chart for the different license options.

Kind regards,

Felipe Ortega
