COPA Datasource creation and Masterdata loading for characteristics

HI,

I am creating a Costing based COPA datasource for client requirement.

There are fileds from

Base on the above characteristic fields how can i consider the infoobjects from BW to laod masterdata.

Do i need to consider the base tables for characteristics and for value fileds apart from CE1XXX,CE2XX,CE3XXX,CE4XXX tables.

Please give me your ideas on this.

Hi Satya,

Goto table RSOSFIELDMAP and put source field name, you will get the equivalent infoobject name from BW in IOBJNM field.

This way you can search infoobjects for all of your source system fields.

Since i need to load the masterdata for some of the objects.

Hi Satya,

If you are not finding readily avaialble infoobjects then you can either search them in Business content or you can go for 'Z' objects creation.

Data is coming perfectly in RSA3 for COPA datasource.

There is a confusion while reconciling the data with ECC system.(transaction KE24).

Functional consultant has reconcile one transaction with a reference document number and with certain currency type(Company code currency/Operating concern currency).

But still i confuse with the Masterdata Loading.

Because masterdata attribute fileds are taking directly from the operating concern in COPA which is normally won't happen with the other scenario.

(Say for CUSTOMER attribute are CUSTOMER GROUP and COUNTRY, In COPA scenario these are directly available in operating concern which will be available for datasource.But for other scenarios for CUSTOMER GROUP and COUNTRY fill with the CUSTOMER attributes hence my idea is whether we need to load masterdata in BI or not.)

Hi Satya,

Yes you are right many of the master data(Most probably non changable) directly available in profitability DataSource , because profitability data base tables are based on Line item and segment concepts which is very much different then other module.

For better performance and for fulfill the different kind a reporting requirement, I will suggest you to use Master data load before CO-PA data load.

As Durgesh suggested find the standard InfoObject for relevant field and whenever there isn't any standard IOBJ available for any field create custom one.

For standard InfoObject , if they are master data or text enable then find relevant DataSource in ECC.

As you mentioned we can find the relevant INFOOBJECTS for respective DATASOURCE..

so looks like we can use this table even when there is any new requirement ?? is it right?

If so, is there any table we can find the transact object available in which datasource??

Hi Satya,

COPA data sources are much different than any other data sources, but when you talk about master data as I know it is shared among all the infocubes.

So the extraction will be different in terms of transaction data. Master data loading will be same for COPA as that of other infoobject.
