Do F1 on that field has search help. Then click on Technical Information button at the top. Find out the search help name. If it standard sap search help (not starting with 'Z'), then to change it you have to make a repair which is not recommended. But if you do, you have to change the data element label of the search help field using transaction SE11.
Since you have a custom button which I assumed you are using a user exit to set this button, then I proposed you copy that search help to your own and then created a custom data element for that search help field. Then you can have your own label for the data element.
Do an F1 on the field. In the help box that pops up, right click and choose maintain from the list of options. Choose "DE Supplement" and assign it a number. I have only ever needed one help, so I just put 1. There is a blue button with a white I in it that you can click to give you extra help. Also, by reading the extra help you will be able to determine if you want to check the "Assign Automatically" box. Then click the check mark and it will take you to an editor where you can type whatever you want the field help to say.
Hope that helps,
Mary
