Meaning of "Content Phase"

Dear all,

I wanna do a page redirection by using the method "redirct" of object "IPortalComponentRequest". From the javadoc, it mentioned that "To be effective this method must be called before the content phase."

Do anyone know how to make use of it? What is "<b>before the content phase</b>"?

Thanks

Sam

    Hi Sam,

if you want to use an AbstractPortalComponent for redirection (which is a good choice), there is the method doContent, which is called "too late" (it belongs to the content phase, headers have been set). If you overwrite doOnNodeReady, you're fine. Then implement the doContent just as an empty method (open braces, close braces).

    Hope it helps

    Detlev
