EP6.0 SP7 related queries

Hi All,

We have EP6 installation with SP7 & KMC SP7. Please resolve my queries below (very basic although).

1. How can I know which Role I've been assigned. I mean whether it is Super Admin / System Admin / Content Admin / User Admin.

2. What Role do I need so that I can create Collboration Rooms.

3. What Role do I need so that I can import Business Packages into the Portal?

4. What is the difference between SP7 & SP9? I mean in what scenario SP9 is a must?

5. Currently I get 'Portal Runtime Error' even when I click on Template Administration under Content Admin -> Collaboration Content. What could be the possible problem? Is it anything to do with the SP level?

If it is not possible to answer all my queries, please guide me where can I find related best information.

    1. When you log in you will see the corresponding tabs:

    System Admin tab for System Admin role

    Content Admin tab for Content Admin role

    User Admin tab for User Admin Role

    Super Admin has all three

    OR better yet look under User Admin -> Roles (if role is assigned to you) and search for your user and edit it. You will then see definitively what roles have been assigned.

    2.,, etc.

    3. system_admin_role or super_admin_role should do it

    4. It's always nice to move to the latest SP when possible but specifically I think there is an object locking issue in SP7 that is resolved in SP9. So SP9 should be considered a mandatory move.

    5. Hard to say... need more info from your logs to see exactly what the error is.

      Hi Mike,

      Thanks for the reply. But now I've further questions. I can see 'System Admin', 'Content Admin', 'Collaboration Admin' & 'Content management' tabs/roles when i log on to portal.(are these Worksets related to the Roles I have?)

      BUT when I go in 'Content Admin' and right click on PCD, I get only 'Open Object' in the context menu. I can NOT see 'Create', 'Change' or 'Delete' options. So how is it possible? Being a 'System Admin' I should have all these rights.

      One thing I observed is that when I select a 'Folder' or it's contents in the PCD, the 'Quick Info' area shows me the Role as 'End user'. Is this possible?
