How to Maintain Bonus

Hi,

we pay bonus in OCTOBER for previous financial year e.g from 1.04.2011 to 31.03.2012 and we pay in oct 2012.for current employee and ex-employee who have left before oct 2012.so how to maintain bonus and absence should be deducted.so please help me in this issue
