Redeployment of PAR files

Former Member

Hi all,

I wish to redeploy some PAR files in order to fix some issue related to portal.

In this directory,

/usr/sap/<sid>/<instance>/j2ee/cluster/server0/apps/sap.com/irj/servlet_jsp/irj/root/web-inf/deployment/pcd

we have files with extension .par.bak

For redeployment, do we just rename the file we want to redeploy from .par.bak to .par, then restart the cluster?

Will it redeploy automatically?

Thanks.

Thanks, but I'm just curious.

As far as I know, PAR file will automatically be deployed after we upload it right?

But I have this unclear instruction of renaming the .par.bak to .par in the directory i mentioned above, and then restart the java engine - for the redeployment.

Does it really work?

Hi Castro,

Yes the PAR files will get deployed automatically after you upload them.

You can also rename them from .par.bak to .par. However, this would require restart of AS (the restart would re-deploy them). If these files are very few in number, then you can download them and upload again (just to save you the hassle of renaming and restarting the AS).

Thanks,

Nikhil

Why don't you try and download these PARs and then upload again (just follow the standard process)

Hi,

Please change the extention to .par and then try deploy.
