Monitoring on the Application System

Hi,

How do I set the trace levels and logging on the Integration Engine of an application system. (It is an SAPCRM 4.0 system)? I want to monitor synchronous messages sent to it.

I tried going to sxmb_adm-> Integration Engine Configuration->Specific Configuration. But in the category RUNTIME, I do not see the parameters for TRACE and LOGGING like we see in the Int. Server

Is there some other way to monitor the synchronous messages in the App. system?

Thanks & Regards

Manish

Hi Manish,

You say the system is a CRM 4.0, that's a WAS620 system as far as I now. Am I right?

If so, I suppose you use the APPINT plugin of XI2.0 on the system.

The place to change the pipeline settings for an XI2.0 based system is diffent to the XI3.0. In the Integration Engine menu you chose Configuration, Pipeline Settings, and then you will on the screen Pipeline Settings Display.

In this screen you can change the settings for the tracing and logging.

Some general info about monitoring:

To display information on XML messages, the messages must first have been logged. An XML message is logged when it is processed if:

· It is an asynchronous message (persisted implicitly)

· Logging for the underlying pipeline is activated (general logging of all pipeline steps or logging of a particular pipeline step)

I hope this is enough info. There's more on help.sap.com, when you go to netweaver <04 --> XI2.0

Best regards,

Hi Alwin,

Thanks for the help! The CRM system is indeed WAS620, and so I looked in the pipeline settings and bingo!

Thanks and Regards

Hi Alwin,

Yeah. I appreciate that synchrnous messages are not persisted unless explicitly specified. that is why I ran into this issue, trying to configure the CRM system to log the synch message. I had managed that in the IS, but was stumped with the App System.

Thanks & Regards
