Dear CO Experts,

1. How to map SKF (Statistical Key Figures) in COPA like Number of Employees in each division or each Plant or each Profit center etc.

2. How to map Product or Product Group Opening & Closing Quantity and Opening & Closing values in COPA like each Division or each branch or each Profit center etc.

Note : My COPA report is Period wise. In each period wise Client wants see How may employees, what is Product Opening, Closing quantity and Opening, Closing Values.

Waiting for your favorable reply.

Regards,

KBR.

Hi Bhaskar,

Shaubhik has already covered almost every aspect of your query....

To summarize, you will have to create a Qty Field in KEA6 and upload SKF qty into this Qty Field using KE21N.. You can use BAPI_COPAACTUALS_POSTCOSTDATA to create an upload program

Similarly, for Op and Closing stock, you will have to read it from LIS (S031) and upload it in COPA using KE21N... Same BAPI can be used again.,. You will have to create one more Val Field....

However, to me it really does not make sense to upload these details in COPA

@ Shaubhik da: You can pass Prod Qty to COPA at the time of Prod Order settlement... In that case, once the Op Stock is uploaded, it should be possible to calculate Op Stock + Prod - Sales etc

Thanks Ajay,

KE21N really didn't strike my mind its the better to take that route then defining templates for the same thing.

Hello,

The answers to your question are as under.

1. How to map SKF (Statistical Key Figures) in COPA like Number of Employees in each division or each Plant or each Profit center etc.

SKF can not be posted in COPA. In COPA all the quantitative information is captured in quantity field like the sales quanity in which case there is a very easy way that you configure the assignment of the quantity fields in SPRO under 'Transfer of Billing Documents'. But this one is not to be a easy one.

I may suggest you an approach to capture quantities like No. of employees etc. in quantity fields, though I haven't tested the same but I feel its workable. However, beforehand you must have some exposure to formula planning (templates in particular) for which you can refer to this link and also refer to any material available in the internet.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_470/helpdata/en/17/316cc9b43011d19296c8d204c10000/frameset.htm

A template in COPA (environment PAC) is used to transfer overhead costs to COPA where the cost center and activity type are the sender. You can refer in IMG -> Controlling -> Profitability Analysis -> Transfer of Overhead -> Setup Template Allocation. So our approach would be to allocate overheads to the Characteristics so that the quantity field is updated.

The config requirements would be as under:

1. Specify the characteristics for selection and Update (Choose / create as per your requirement)

2. Maintain Template with environment PAC

In this template insert separate lines for cost center / activity type combination where each activity type should be virtually assumed as SKF and you should plan the activity quantities in KP26. There is not need to update the plan value column and update the actual values column with the ' Activity Type Plan Quantity' Formula. A Screen would appear where you would need to fill up the cost center and activity details or you may simply mention sender activity and cost center name.

3. The next step is Determination of Template and other update characteristics.

In this step you have to assign the template created with a determination rule (ie. combination of characteristics as created in step 1). Once you have created the rule then you can create a rule value where you assign the template to say distribution channel or plant.

4. Maintain PA Transfer Structure

Here you maintain the 'allocation cost element' of the activity type and assign it to value and quantity fields. Remember that these quantity fields would get updated with the quantities like No of Employees etc. which have been defined as activity types

So this is the end of configuration and we move towards actual execution

1. Plan Activity in KP26 - The cost centers and the activity now need to be planned as per the cost centers (put $ 0.01 as price)

2. Run Template Allocatilon - CPAE, now the quantity would be posted in COPA in the respective quantity fields and the value fields

In COPA you would need only the quantity fields and therefore in KE30 reports consider the quantity fields only and leave the value fields as it is (I prefer to create only one value field to be assigned to all the activities)

2. How to map Product or Product Group Opening & Closing Quantity and Opening & Closing values in COPA like each Division or each branch or each Profit center etc.

In costing based COPA we are focussed on the sales oriented performance reporting and as such these quantities may not be captured in COPA. We deal with sales quantity only. Since the production quantity is not transferred to COPA we can not even calculate the stock quantity using a key figure.
