Viewing Trace files

1. Where is the printStackTrace() written out to in EP? Is it turned off by default?Is yes how to switch this on to view err messages.

2. why are the info() (PortalRuntime Logger) logs not writtern out to the portal.log file? Are they turned OFF by default?

3. How can I turn on trace(rfc layer) portal components using JCA/ConnectorService. I am trying to troubleshoot a remote fn call . In JCO there was a method to set the trace level.

    1. printStackTrace with out any parameters print out to system.err , so it should be in the error console log . For SP2 this this log is in c:\usr\sap\<EPSID>\j2ee\j2ee_01\cluster\server\managers\console_logs

    2. In SP2 I haven't got a portal runtime logger, but you generally can set the log out files in the logging console under System administration ->Monitoring (in the portal admin interface). You need to click the configuration mode.
