URL IView opening twice

Hi all

One of my customers has got EP5 and several URL IViews which they use for their help pages. Recently they underwent some IT changes in their landscape which is described below, after which when they click on the URL IView, it opens up twice in different windows, instead of the one normal opening in new window:

***************************************************

They upgraded to the following:

Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition (previously Windows 2000)

Citrix Metaframe XP Server for Windows with Feature Release 3 (previously Metaframe 1.8)

Internet Explorer 6.0.3790.0 (previously IE 5.5)

When they did this upgrade they encountered a few problems with EP5 and subsequently discovered that EP5 was not supported on windows 2003.

As a work around to this, they installed a silo Citrix Server farm just for SAP and ESS / MSS. The silo config is Windows 2000 with Citrix 1.8 and IE 5.5 (E.g. what it was prior to their upgrade).

So now they firstly log onto their main Citrix farm (Windows 2003 with Citrix Xp and IE 6). Then they log onto ESS / MSS via the silo citrix farm (Window 2000 with Citrix 1.8 and IE 5.5).

If they access ESS / MSS direct from the main Citrix farm, they do not encounter the double help pages. However they have other problems caused by

EP5 not being supported in the Windows 2000 / IE 6 environment. It is only when they access ESS / MSS from the Silo Citrix farm that they get the double help pages opening up.

****************************************************

Any ideas as to what might be causing this or any possible remedy would be really appreciated.

Thanks heaps in advance

Amit.

    Hi,

Do they have the page created for the Iview or they directly using it in the Role?

What do you mean by "after which when they click on the URL IView, it opens up twice in different windows"?

Are you directly executing the URL Iview? If then look in the properties in the URL iview definition?

    Thank you

      Hi Arun

Thx for your response, by "after which when they click on the URL IView, it opens up twice in different windows", I mean after the client went through the IT landscape changes in the way they access ESs/MSS as i described in my original message.....

The iview is not directly in the role, it is in a page, which has been included in the role. The URL is a link to the client's intranet.

      Thanks

      Amit
