bill to address vs payer address

Can someone tell me the difference between the payer and bill to address on the customer master. We are considering using the Bill To address on invoices and the payer address on the Customer statements but are worried that the payer address is used for something we are unaware of.

Hi

Four main partner functions in SD are as follows:

Sold To Party :- The Busines Partner who has given the Order and who is the Main Customer whom you are selling the goods.

Ship To Party :- Where you are sending the goods

Bill To Party : The party where you are sending the Bill / Invoice

Payer :- The party / customer who is actually giving you the payment for your invoice amount.

Most of the time all the four are same and so have same address, but as per the business scenario they may be different also and so their address may differ.
