Hi All,
Does SRM consultant required solution manager access for change any customization setting in SRM 7.0 ?
Does it a mandatory component for SRM 7.0 ?
For your kind information, our basis guy has access to solution manager. They can use solution manager for installation. My concern is whether SRM consultant required solution manager access for SRM 7.0 implementation.
Thanks,
Jennifer

I don't think there is any SRM configuration that is exclusively contained in solution manager. Being able to access SOLMAN is beneficial but not mandatory.

SRM consultant does not need to have access to Solution manager for making config changes in SRM70. From Business suite 70 onwards SAP is allowing to download the documents ex. Support packs, documenation etc only through solution manager. So, Basis team requires access to Solution manager to perform those activities. If you want to download any SRM config document for your business scenario then ask Basis team to download it from solution manager.
