Maintain configurable material infromation only in basic data view field

Hi all,

We have a situation in which we use in sales offer a configurable product. For this configurable product there are lot of configured materials and system show us a pop-up that suggest which configured material can be used corresponding to the configuration chosen, as we can substitue the configurable material with the configured one. This feature is very useful but we have noticed that it run correctly only if we manage information about the configurable material in u201CMRP 3u201D view (field MARC-STDPD).

If we manage this information only in u201CBasic data 2u201D view (field MARA-SATNR) when we insert the offer for configurable material no pop-up is shown also if we chose a set of configuration values corresponding to a configured material.

As in our situation configuration is the same for all the plants and customer don't want to manage, if possible, this information at plant level, I ask if you know a standard way (or a user exit to use) to maintain information about configurable material only in u201CBasic data 2u201D of material master and to have in sales offer the possibility to use equally the functionality that allow us to select a configured material show in selection pop-up if configuration chosen correspond to one configured product.

Thanks in advance for every contribution.

Gianpaolo

Hello Gianpaolo ,

No, Unfortunately there is no way and I dont think so you can use a user exit to avail it. Configuration on MARA is set on client level which that means configuration is not plant dependent whereas the sales order are all plant dependent therefore you need a plant data ie MARC then MARA data. Also ,in SD programs a check to MARC -STDPD is made. I would say you will need a modification to the standard code to avail that as sales order is plant dependent.

Sorry for not providing a favourable answer

Thanks
