SUP 2.0 - Sybase Unified Agent service fails to start

Former Member

Hi,

I have just installed SUP 2.0 on my development machine. I

already had SUP 1.5.5 installed and just installed SUP 2.0

on top of this. However since I installed SUP 2.0 I have

been unable to start the Sybase Unified Agent service (which

means I can't access the SCC).

I found the following SUP 2.0 article which details the same

error I am receiving:

http://infocenter.sybase.com/help/index.jsp?topic=/com.sybase.infocenter.dc01092.0200/doc/html/mqu12...

However I have tried the suggested solutions and the service

still fails to start. Has anyone got any other suggestions

that I could try to resolve the problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Colin

Hi,

I already had the .NET frameworks installed on my machine (i.e. 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0) before updating SUP to 2.0. What version is required for SUP 2.0?

Colin

Hi,

SUP requires .Net Framework 2.0 SP2 (I think it's version 3.5 required for SUP 2.0)

But I encountered some issues with services until I did a Windows Update to retrieve an update for my .Net Framework.

After runnng Windows Update all my services run fine.

Regards.

I have versions 2.0 SP2 and 3.5 of the .NET Framework already installed. I checked my Windows Updates there and my computer is up to date in terms of updates.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Hi,

Please check Server and Workstation(Both are windows services) services running. If not please start those services and start the Sybase Unified Agent service .

Hi Everybody

I have faced numerous issues when upgrading from 1.5.5 to 2.0.

The best way to have a clean and working install of SUP 2.0 is to un-install all previous versions of SUP, and then do a clean install of 2.0.

If it still doesn't work then you will have to either clean up the system of all traces of SUP ( Regedit/delete).

Thanks
