Hi everybody!

Is it possible to install XI 3.0 under VMware? Does anybody have any experience with that? Or with any type of SAP systems under VMware for that matter?

Greetings!

Hallo Francis,

To run SAP Systems under VMware is no problem.

With good Hardware it works very well.

Hello Robin,

what do you mean with 'good Hardware'. How many HD / RAM / CPU ?

I've tried to install XI on my Laptop (1GB RAM / 2HD) with no success. On my current Laptop with 2GB and only 1HD it works. I think 2 GB RAM is the absolute Minimium for XI.

Thanks for any hint.

Hello Frank,

2 GB Ram is minimum for Test XI 3.0.

For productively XI is 4 GB the absolute Minimum in my opinion. For CPU a normal Server CPU will are sufficient.

Because of the Java and Work Process the RAM is the most important.

For security i thing a RAID System will be good investment.

But Server Power you can never have enough

Robin
