PI Integration between SAP NW MDM and APO

Hi SDners,

This is a Parts Master Data Solution for one of the Largest Auto Manufacturer where SAP MDM will be the central hub of all the Global and Local attributes of Parts . The subscribing system is SAP SCM APO . Please advice if there is any possibility of direct integration between APO -MDM through PI. Does PI has the standard IDOC types to communicate with APO.

PI is a middleware and it wont have any idoc. You have to choose idoc only in your source or target system. You can import idoc metadata inside PI from your interface system. Once you do ALE configuration you can pass idoc as message type via pi to make communication between your two system.

Hi Roy,

Please search for standard content in SAP Market place. If you have standard content then you can download and install in PI. With standard you can directly use the master data mappings coming from MDM. If either in MDM or APO has any changes from standard then you can do the map accordingly.

PI doesnot hold any idocs, whatever system here in your case APO what ever the master idocs, you can import the metadata and then do the mapping accordingly.

Hi Satish,

Apology for framing the question in incorrect verbiage due to my lack of knowledge in PI. What I meant to ask is since I have not seen any implementation before where MDM is directly integrating with APO through PI , I was curious to know that whether it is at all possible. Like in ECC we post the Materials as MATMAS, Vendors as CREMAS. so for APO what is the IDOC type used for Material Master data posting in APO. Do we need to build custom process codes for that. In service marketplace we get predelivered PI Content for SAP MDM.I am not sure whether that can be used for APO integration as well . We would be using the standard material xsds that we use to post Material Master Data to ECC.
