cost centres

Hi Experts,

I have to run payroll from 01 Apr 11 for all employees.Few employees left organisation in Jun and few were transferred to other company code from flagship company. My problem is

(a) They want default position number to be allotted to the employees who left the organisation in Jun.If so, then, for which cost centre they have to assign?

(b) can we create dummy cost centre in real scenario. Its purpose is to run payroll for the employees who left the organization. If so what are the pros and cons.

(c) what is the best way to transfer an employee from one company code to another company code.

Thanks in Advance.

    Hi krish,

If you assign the default position, you cannot assign the Cost center as the Object "s" is not created in the system.

System will not generate in the payroll.

I can suggest you as your client requires Create a no. series "S" for these EE's External/internal and assign them to the cost center it may be the solution as per my understanding.

and another way i dint tried but am suggesting you check once this. Maintain WBS element in the infotype 0027 (cost distribution).

so system can get one cost center for the payroll process as it is not required master cost center that can be a dummy one. it may resolve your issue.

    all the best.
