Set the focus to a FormatedTextEdit

Hi,

in my application I have a FormatedTextEdit-Control with showFormattingOptions enabled. This control is embedded in a tab-control. When the users clicks on the tab the FormatedTextEdit-Control is presented but the input-cursor for editing text is not shown. So, I have to click in that control or press tab once to enter some text. This is not very comfortable.

I tried to set the cursor with some code (request_focus_on_view_elem( ) and if_wd_view_controller~request_focus( ) ) but without success. It seems, that the focus is on the first button (the bold button) of the FormatedTextEdit-Control.

How can I set the focus in the FormatedTextEdit-Control, that the user can enter data immediate?

My browser is IE8.

Bernd

      Hi Kris,

thank you for your link, but I think the linked thread is different to my problem.

I only want to place a user-text-input-cursor in a ui-control when I show this ui-control to the user. I solved this problem with a piece of code (as described in my thread) for a TextEdit control, but this doen't work for a FormatedTextEdit. As described it seems that the focus is placed at the first buttom of this control.
