Transactional InfoCube Backup

Hi all,

We've a transactional InfoCube for BPS that we backup weekly using the process chain. In the process chain it first switches the mode of the IC from Transactional to Batch and then it does the full upload to the backup cube every time. Once the mode is turned to Batch it becomes unavailable to users for BPS. And due to full upload it takes very long (13 hours) as the number of record in the cube is more than 2.2 millions.

My questions are:

1. Is it required to switch the IC to Batch for Backup?

2. Can we do a delta upload for backup instead of full load to speed up the backup process?

    Dear Roy,

    1. Backup of an InfoCube requires read access only. Hence there is no technical requirement to switch the mode from trans to batch. This should help with the long downtime where useres can't execute their planning.

    Regards, Olaf
