Convert BEx report to Web-application designer

Hi,

We are looking at implementing the white paper ‘How to enhance web printing’. The first step required is to create a query in the web application designer.

Is there a way to convert BEx queries to be able to open them in the Web application designer ? Or do we need to recreate our queries ?

Thanks

David

Hi David,

If i understand your question correctly, this is what you need to do.

If you already have a query then all you need to do it to create a web template for that query in the web application designer. To keep it simple, just drag a table onto the blank template and then in the properties window for that table select the query for it show in the dataprovider section of the general tab.

Then save the template and you have completed step one of this whitepaper.

Hope that helps

Ian

Hi David,

if u want to open ur existing queries in the browser, open web application designer, go to TOOLS -> VIEW DEFINITION -> either u can select one of the two options ...BASED ON QUERY or BASED ON EXISTING VIEW.

that way u can open the existing query in the browser. Hope this helps. And can u pls give me the link to the "How to enhance web printing".

Hi,

In the Web application designer, under Tools, I only have Wizard, Query Designer..., Settings.

Where is 'View definition' ?

I can't find the link to the white paper, but if you let me know your e-mail, I can send it to you.

Thanks
