Problem with .NET Enterprise Portal Server

Due to the .NET Enterprise Portal Server's flaky uptime when running as a Windows service, we attempted to uninstall/reinstall the .NET Portal Server. After reinstallation was complete, we started the service.

After a couple of minutes the machine completely locks up. This has never happened in the past, but we have been unsuccessful in reinstalling/repairing the .NET Portal Server on this machine. It seems to exhibit the same behavior every time we attempt it.

Also, does anyone have any tips for managing the .NET Portal Server running as a Windows service? Approximately how long does it take after you start the service for it to fully load and be ready to use?

It usually takes it 5-15 seconds, on a "normal" machine.

Did you make sure all the pre-requisites are ok?

    Regards,

    Ofer

Could you please be more specific as far as what prerequisites we would be talking about. We are not on the NetWeaver WAS 6.4 platform yet, so I do have Patch 1 installed at this time.

Not sure if this is affecting this...
