Hi

we are about to start upgrade to SCM4.1 and wants to copy our Apo-Dev system and connect both of them to the same R3-instance this for testing purpose.

Is it possible ??, do we need seperate clients ??

The "new" APO system will have a diffrent SID and locical client name.

Thanx for your info.

Hi Tord,

The answer is both YES and NO.

First the NO.

If you want the middleware to replicate between R/3 and two different APO's this will not work. However, it is possible to define a so-called ONE-WAY update (each update from each APO will be repliacted in R/3, but not the other way around).

Now the YES.

Logical client names identify uniquely each different client on a system. If in your system landscape those names are truly unique it is possible to communicate between them (for example using ALE definitions with IDoc exchange). SAP has (via customizing) several processes based on this predefined.

So you should be able to use the with YES option mentioned method to get the job done, however it will still be a lot of work.

Regards,

Rob.
