Install latest SAP kernel on the ASCS host.

Hello.

I am upgrading ERP 6.0 on EHP5 package and would like to know how to install the latest SAP kernel to ASCS instance at the end of upgrade downtime. Is it simply replace the kernel with the latest SAP EHP5 kernel??? Please advise.

Please provide recommendation on how to upgrade the latest SAP kernel on ERS as well.

Hello,

Extract the kerenl to the CT_RUN directory for the ASCS instance

When SAP starts up it wil copy kernel files using sapcpe to the ASCS

SCS and ERS instances

Check the CT_RUN directory in all the instances. it should be the same.

If you read EHP5 upgrade guide then it is written there:

If you are running the ASCS instance and the ERS instance on separate hosts, you install the latest SAP kernel on the host with the ASCS instance and restart the ERS and ASCS instances.
