Hi everybody,
I just installed XI 3.0 and finished the post-installation activities. Now I want to patch everything. Reading Notes 750511, 670388 and 697535 has gotten me confused.
In SPAM, everything (BASIS, ABA, PI-BASIS and SAP_BW) is at SP0. Looking into SDM, I would say J2EE Engine is at SP3 (version.txt says Cluster-version 6.30, PatchLevel 66061.37, Project-Dir: JKernel/630_SP3_REL). This was also necessary for the XI installation.
What XI SP level is this?? Is it SP0 or SP3? How do I find out the SP levels of XI TOOLS e.g.?
The latest SP-stack is 10, which I would like to install. Can I just do it all at once, following Note 750511? Reading Note 697535 (part D022030), since my J2EE is SP3, I should be able to do just that. Correct???
I'd hate to junk everything so close to the end... 😊
Thanks a lot!

Hi Francis,
After installing the patchlevel of your system will be SP0.
To determine the patchlevel of your system I use the SDM. In the SDM repository you can find the level of the components:
XI ADAPTER FRAMEWORK CORE 3.0
XI ADAPTER FRAMEWORK 3.0
XI TOOLS 3.0
You can applySP Stack 10 on your system now, There is no need to apply all the other patches for the java stack. (1,2,3,etc...) Those patches are cumulative.
Best regards,
Alwin
The XI patch level is the same as BASIS. Both start with SP0, J2EE starts with SP3.
After SP5 the BASIS/XI patch level is adjusted to the J2EE patch level, so you need SP10 for J2EE and BASIS and XI.
Yes, you can deploy J2EE SP10 at once like described in note 750511, you need not deploy J2EE SP4 first.
Regards
Stefan
