Web data entry

Hello,

I have a client with special requeriments.

They have BSP page web with sales data, and there they submit and record data using this page (for ex. bill documents).

Now they want to upload data from this web page to BW.

My idea was create an infosource which should get data from a datasource embebed in web code page wiht a remote function call and so on... and extract the data to BW...

But perphaps there is a best solution to solve it or I'm in the wrong way.. or perphaps there is a maravellous document that explain all this...

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Ana

    Hi Ana,

You have a couple of options here:

    1. If you are using SAP BW 3.5 then have your BSP call a web Service to load a SOAP enabled DataSource's queue(called an XML enabled DataSource in early 3.x releases). An InfoPackage can then (pull) load data from queue at pre-defined intervals or triggers.

    2. If you are using SAP BW 3.0B or 3.1, then you can use the above mentioned XML/SOAP enabled DataSource. Instead of calling the web service, you can call the SOAP interface via HTTP/HTTPS to load the DataSource's queue. An InfoPackage can then (pull) load data from queue at pre-defined intervals or triggers.

    3. Third option would be lower tech: have the BSP create or append a flat file and have an InfoPackage load from it at predefined times.

Just some thoughts. Option 1 or 2 would be more optimal. If you can only use 2 due to your SAP BW release, it would easy to switch to option one when you upgrade.

    All the best,

    Mike.
