we would like to publish documents for a defined time periode with setting document lifetime. after the lifetime is over (or a litte earlier) the document should be resubmissed to the author.
has anyone already faced a similar situation?
thanks!
Hi Matthias,
first, welcome at SDN!
About your question: That's quite an interesting topic. Anyhow, it is not covered by the standard implementation.
Setting document to "active" or "inactive" is done by two Scheduler Tasks, see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/d1/5b6635f5e0ef428fb513336881679b/frameset.htm
So a solution would be to write some own Scheduler Tasks doing something similar, ie check if the valid time ends in the next n days, and if, send a message to the author (a reminder or whatever you think of).
Sounds like a feature SAP should think of to extend within time-dependent publishing (with parameters "Remind before activation?", "Remind before deactivation?", "Timeframe for reminders", "Reminder Channel" or so).
Best regards
Detlev
