Depreciation area in 1 Co Code only

Former Member

We currently have 1 Chart of Depreciation for all Companies.

We now have a requirement to add a couple of Depreciation Areas for just 1 Co Code

I have set this up, and its working, but my problem is that it appears on all other Co Codes assets. From what I can see, there is no Co Code specific config to make available for just 1 company.

Is it possible to have a Depreciation Area for 1 Co code within a shared chart of Depn.

If not, is there some other way I should have set this up to get it to work? I presume you can't moce all assets onto a new Chart when its ongoing?

Thanks

Graham

You can restrict depreciation area by asset class. May be that will help.

Thanks for the answers.

We have applied the settings to only those asset classes we want it on, but they are still used by other Companies.

It looks like I don't have a Company option that will help me....thanks for the replies confirming this though

you can try substitution in Asset..

make sure in AO21 'Deactivate Area' option is available in Asset Main level..

you can have substitution at asset creation where you can set this by default for specific company codes..

I haven't tried this but seems possible logically..

If that works.. also have a exit in validation so that user can not change that indicator while creating asset.

Depreciation area is Chart of Depreciation specific.

If the company codes are using the same chart of depreciation, they will get all the settings. You cannot restrict per company code.
