Migrate NWDI DC's to local

Hi,

Does anyone have any suggestions (based on experience) on how to migrate Web Dynpro DC's created in NWDI to local DC's for futher development?

Hi Erno

if your webdynpro DC's are in NWDI, you can import the associated track in NWDS. once imorted in the NWDS then create the project for the DC, if you wanted to modify the DC, then you need to do check-out for modification and check-in & activate for changes deployment activities.

As per your question : Migrate Web Dynpro DC's created in NWDI to local DC's

Please let us know what do you want to achieve for NWDI to local dc.

Hi Emo,

You can archive it by following below steps:

1. If all DC's are in a specific track, then just Import it into NWDS and create a project of that DC.

2. Now if you want to do modification on that DC, you can do it directly from Web Dynpro Explorer.

3. If you want to keep that copy as it is and want to do modification into a Local copy.

4. Then create a Local DC.

5. Goto File>Import>File System-->Next

6. Browse the DC (it wil be located under .dtc folder)that you want to modify into the From Directory

7. Select "_comp" folder from the browse option of that specific DC.

8. In the "Into folder" select the Local DC.

9.Check the "Overwrite Existing resource" option and the click on Next

It will create a copy of your specified DC into a local DC.

NOTE: You should have all DC under specific Track in NWDI. Other wise you have to get the "SRC" folder for SC.

i think you can just copy to local dc folder.

if you are in CE 7.2, you have standard function "Move", by which you can move dc to different SC.
