External WBT LSO

Hi,

We have been using Web Based Training in LSO for quite some time now. However, we are now looking at venturing into External WBT.

Have setup the Course (Delivery Method 0007) and have added the Company as a relationship. The Company has the External Training Provider setup which I have added in SPRO and added all the services to.

We are getting the following error when trying to book into the course:

"Problems have occurred with the external course provider

Message no. LSO598"

Have ran Transaction SLG1, object HCM_LSO and there appears to be two errors:

Error 1: Problems have occurred with the external course provider

Error 2: An error occurred when determining the business system (COMMUNICATION_ERROR)

I have done a little bit of research and came across this URL:

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c0aeb020-947d-2b10-048c-82618df6d...

So does this mean XI Web Services must be setup some how? Bit confused how this works.

Thanks

Shaun

Please also check if all settings pertaining to the external provider are maintained properly (transaction SLG1, object HCM_LSO)

Thanks very much Sharon!

Have spoken to our Integration Team and they manage application to application & B2B interfaces, however they currently do not utilise SAP XI or PI, we use SoftwareAGs tool - webMethods. Currently none of them have expertise in SAP XI/PI, so they can't really help unless webMethods can be used to connect.

Can webMethods be used?

Hi - I am by no means an expert in this but yes, to connect to externally hosted content, SAP delivers web services via PI (used to be XI.) Documentation can be found: http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_05/helpdata/EN/9b/960440a3135509e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm

Customers have also used AICC to implement this - less flexible but provides the functionality often needed without use of PI.

Good luck! Sharon
