BPMon Background Processing For Process Chain

Hi SAP Experts,

Following the Support Pack 25, I used the BPMon Background Processing monitor and configured a Process Chain to send out Red alerts when any of the following condition is met: -

- Ended with errors

- Framework error upon completion

- Canceled

After activating the monitor, I received a few email alerts with the following statement: "Check status of BW process chain X - Status A". The alert was not intuitive to tell me what was the issue as it did not specify what Status A meant. I checked the process chain log in RSPC in SCM but did not find any errors. Could you kindly advise on this?

Hi Kim Yong,

could you please check if the prerequisites as mentioned in SAP note 1436853 are met? Sorry for this very general advice - but I have not seen this behaviour before. If this won't help, please open a message on component SV-SMG-MON-BPM so that we can investigate this on your system.

Hi,

After some investigation, I realize that the Status A in the process chain means that the chain is still in the running mode, as I can see a yellow triangle icon beside the chain while it is still running. I believe that is how the status A transpires.

Now the issue I am encountering is why BPMon is sending red alerts for status A when in fact I did not configure such a status at all. What I configured was only to set "R, J, X Ended with errors, Framework error upon completion, Canceled" under the Status for Red column.

I have opened a Customer Message #580720 for SAP to investigate further. Meanwhile I am also requesting my system admin to check if all the prerequisites in Note #1436853 have been applied to the environment as I do not have access to validate them.

for your information, please find below the status that are used by the

BW:

• Definition of the status:

*

• R Ended with errors

• G Successfully completed

• F Completed

• A Active

• X Canceled

• P Planned

• S Skipped at restart

• Q Released

• Y Ready

• Undefined

• J Framework Error Upon Completion (e.g. follow-on job

• missing)

It seems as if the status "A" is accidentially causing a red alert in

the BPM session.
